CITY RELEASES PROPOSED 10-YR HOUSING PLAN

The city of Toronto’s released the proposed HousingTO 2020-30 Action Plan, a blueprint that’s designed to help more than 341,000 households over the next decade.

”That includes an ambitious target of approving 40,000 new affordable rental homes … it includes 18,000 new supportive housing units for vulnerable residents, including people who are homeless or at-risk of being homeless or who have other challenges in their lives and it includes 10,000 new affordable rental and supportive homes for women and girls, including female led households,” announced Tory.
The Action Plan is estimated to cost all three levels of government $23.4-billion, including $8.5-billion from the city.
The proposal goes to the planning and housing committee next Tuesday and is expected to be considered by city council the following week.
