Most Canadian doctors say they have not seen an improvement in the supply of personal protective equipment over the last month during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A new survey by the Canadian Medical Association of nearly 2500 physicians found 42 percent had seen no change in the supply of gear such as masks and face shields in the last month, while just under 29 percent feel the supply is now worse.

The vast majority, 88 per cent, say a greater supply of PPE would reduce their anxiety during the pandemic.

And what about other proactive ways to reduce the anxiety and stress facing physicians?

Doctor Sohail Gandhi is president of the Ontario Medical Association.

He told Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with guest host Jane Brown, this is part of his regular messaging to doctors.

“The province needs you healthy, I need you healthy, your family needs you healthy. Make sure you take some time for yourself as best as possible, make sure if you can get outside, even sitting on a balcony, a porch for half an hour a day, get your exercise and eat right. I mean we tell our patients these things, we should be doing them ourselves,” said Dr. Gandhi.
