Ontario Place hasn’t exactly a hub of activity lately.
But the provincial government has announced they’re helping to reopen the site for a number of events and festivals this summer.
Lisa MacLeod, MInister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture practices, made the announcement today at Ontario Place.
“Ontario place will receive $2-million to support on-site activities including several festivals and events that give people the opportunity to safely re-engage in arts and cultural experiences,” said MacLeod.
Ontario Place, which is still the subject of debate over its permanent future, will drive-in movie screenings of international films, the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival. TIFF, which will go ahead but without much of the fanfare in September, will also host screenings at the facility.
