HEALTH EXPERTS: PEOPLE ARE GETTING TIRED OF ALL THE COVID MESSAGING

As we await the latest number of new COVID cases for Ontario, just over half of those reported Wednesday were among those under the age of 40 for the third straight day.
Epidemiologists Drs. Timothy Sly and Alon Vaisman told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with guest host Jane Brown, they’re not surprised.
”They’ve heard it so many times, it’s going in one ear and out the other half the time” said Sly.
”The sun beckons, the beach party calls, that great two-four of lager is waiting to be shared around among friends, and we tend to forget; a little out of sight, out of mind, the fact there’s a dangerous disease there.”
That’s why Dr. Vaisman told the show, ”it’s important now more than ever to normalize the behaviour and to make people realize that this is going to be what’s necessary in the long term, but getting people used to that idea now is important.” 
Both stress the method of messaging is key, and that by providing people with alternatives to safely socialize, they’re more likely to follow the rules.
Otherwise they’ll inevitably finds ways to get around any restrictions.
Meanwhile, a bad couple of weeks in Alberta, which has recorded the most new cases, per capita, of all provinces.
Its hospitalization rate is on the rise and second only to Quebec.
