He was everyone’s favourite sit-com dad on “Growing Pains.”

What most people don’t know is that the late Alan Thicke was co-writer of the theme music for TV’s “The Facts of Life,” “Diff’rent Strokes” and the game show “Wheel of Fortune.”

For that, Thicke is being inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Alan Thicke was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and died of a heart attack in Los Angeles in 2016 at the age of 69.

Thicke is also remembered for writing the theme to “The Wizard of Odds,” a program hosted by a young Alex Trebek on American TV in 1973.
