It seems most Canadian parents (63%) plan to send their kids back to school in three weeks, but a new poll also reveals the majority (69%) would want classes cancelled if there is a new COVID-19 outbreak in their community.

Two-thirds of parents in the Leger online survey say they are worried about children returning to school next month while a third say they are not concerned.

The poll also found strong support among parents for requiring certain measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 at schools, including making it mandatory for students, teachers and staff to wear face coverings.

Tuesday evening, staff at the Toronto District School Board are scheduled to present a revised kindergarden to grade 12 plan to trustees, after the Doug Ford Progressive Conservatives at Queen’s Park turned down other proposals which included smaller class sizes for elementary students by trimming the school day by 48 minutes.
