The Trudeau government is giving provinces and territories up to $2-billion in additional funding to help them schools are safe when they reopen.
In making the announcement at Yorkwoods Public School in North York, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will help keep students and teachers safe.
”Our children must always be our top priority as parents and as governments,” Trudeau said.
”Once people know their kids are safe they can get back to work with less worries.”
This money is on top of the $19-billion already promised by Ottawa to help provinces and territories cope with the continuing impact of COVID-19 on economies and healthcare systems.
Ontario says the announcement provides the province with $381-million on top of the nearly $900-million the Ford government is putting toward its back-to-school plan.
