Not that many of us are doing much travelling these days, but the people at WestJet say for those who are flying, they’ve enhanced their safety measures related to COVID-19.
Beginning on Tuesday September 1st, there will be a zero-tolerance policy for those passengers who refuse to wear masks and face coverings on WestJet Group flights, which includes WestJet, WestJet Encore, and Swoop.
Non-compliance for anyone over the age of 2, will result in being placed on a no-fly list for one year.
It will be managed in a three-step process:
Passengers will first be asked to put the mask on in a discussion with cabin crew.
Passengers will be given a warning that masks are required, and compliance is necessary.
Passengers will receive notice that non-compliance will result in follow up notification that they will be placed on a no-fly list for 12-months.
Travellers who wish to eat or drink while on board will be able to do so if they replace their face covering or masking once finished.
