The New York Philharmonic and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts are fast tracking the reconstruction of David Geffen Hall.
The plan is to re-open the auditorium in the fall of 2022, almost two years ahead of schedule.
Rather than rebuild in phased segments around seasons, the Philharmonic will relocate for the 2021-22 season that begins in the fall. The full season will be announced in late May.
The $550M renovation is expected to create 6,000 jobs throughout the New York City and State.
