Ricky Nelson went to No. 1 on the US singles chart with ‘Travellin’ Man’ written by Jerry Fuller. Fuller had originally written the song for Sam Cooke, but Cooke’s manager passed on it. The B-side of ‘Travellin’ Man‘ was the Gene Pitney song ‘Hello Mary Lou’ that also made its way into the top ten.
