Pharmacist Nayan Patel of the Ontario Pharmacists Association looks at blood thinners. Also known as anticoagulants or antiplatelet medications, blood thinners are a fairly common therapy used to prevent blood clots. But this particular group of medications can be tricky – there is a lot of potential for interactions with other medications including vitamins and common over-the-counter products, and dosing instructions can often be very strict.
