More Seniors Using Food Banks September 18th, 2017

A new study from Toronto’s Daily Break Food Bank shows usage figures rising to levels not seen since the recession of 2010. This, following census numbers released last week showing that seniors 65 and over are the fastest growing age group of food bank clients over the past year. We speak with The Daily Bread Food Bank’s Executive Director, Gail Nyberg and the author of the new study, Richard Matern. Next, we speak with Joey, who was once a hard working contractor along side his brother, but that all changed in 2011. Joey shares his story and why he uses the food bank.
