The Canadian Automobile Association has launched a campaign to keep drivers from being gouged by tow truck drivers. Research for the CAA found about half of Ontario drivers don’t feel they know enough about their rights, when it comes to dealing with tow truck operators or roadside assistance, which prompted the CAA to write a ‘towing bill of rights’ eliminating any confusion. Assistant Vice-President of Government and Community Relations at CAA Teresa Di Felice said the CAA came up with an 8 point document to help consumers know what they could ask of the tow truck operator, who usually appears in numbers after you’re frazzled by a road incident or a technical issue with your car. Libby chats with Teresa to learn more about the new towing bill of rights.
