A new report finds that Canadian renters need to earn at least $20 an hour in order to afford the average one bedroom apartment. In Toronto, it’s worse.

Workers need to earn about $34 an hour on average to afford a two-bedroom apartment. It means that housing is out of reach for those earning minimum wage in all but a few neighbourhoods around the country.

Libby Znaimer is joined by David Macdonald, Senior Economist at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and the author of this report.
