The speed limit on sections of three Ontario highways are set to increase from 100 km/hr to 110 km/hr this week.
This two-year pilot project by the Ford government will cover sections of Highway 402, Highway 417 and Queen Elizabeth Way.
Ontario Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney says that the province worked together with police in selecting the stretches of highway where the increase will be implemented. She also said that there is sufficient space between the interchanges to allow an increase in the speed limit.
