A C-R-T-C report confirms what many Canadian consumers already suspected – we’re paying some of the highest prices for mobile phones and Internet service among the G-7 nations and Australia.

The survey by Nordicity found Canadians paid the highest amount for entry-level wireless service of 150 minutes – more than double the price paid in Germany, where entry-level service is the least expensive.

Canadian charges were also second or third-highest for other options studied – like unlimited talk and text – with five GB of data.

The report also found Canadians are among those paying the most for fixed and mobile Internet – although we get a break on the cost of fixed home phones – where we’re among those paying the lowest prices.
