Provinces are being urged to keep strict public health measures in place until daily case counts are much lower so Canadians can enjoy a ”one-dose summer.”
That from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who adds restrictions such as the stay-at-home order in Ontario, should remain to get the numbers down.
”We can’t ease public health restrictions until cases are way down. We all want to have a summer where we can see our loved ones and invite our friends over for BBQs,” says Trudeau.
”We can have a better summer, a one-dose summer.”
The prime minister says that would be followed by a ”two-dose fall,” when many more Canadians will have access to a second vaccine shot.
Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams has said daily cases need to be well under 1,000 before he can recommend lifting restrictions.
