Ontario has released its three-step economic reopening plan that’s based on province-wide vaccination rates.

Beginning this Saturday, some outdoor recreation can resume including golf, tennis and soccer with restrictions. That same day, outdoor gathering limits of up to five people will be allowed.

And then beginning the week of June 14th, Health Minister Christine Elliott says the three step ‘Roadmap To Reopen’ begins.

“Step one will focus on resuming more outdoor activities with smaller crowds, along with permitting retail with restrictions, this includes allowing outdoor gatherings of up to ten people, outdoor dining of up to four people per table and non-essential retail at 15 percent capacity and with restrictions in place this will also include outdoor pools, splash pads, fitness classes, zoos and religious services,”explained Elliott.

Step two will begin when 70 percent of adults are vaccinated with one dose and 20 percent with two doses and will expand outdoor activities and resume limited indoor services and outdoor gatherings will increase to 25. Outdoor sports will resume along with personal care service.

And Step 3 happens when 80 per cent of adults are vaccinated with one dose and 25 per cent both doses and will expand access to indoor settings to include indoor sports and recreational fitness, indoor dining, museums, art galleries, libraries, and casinos.

The province will remain in each step for at least 21 days.

And the goal is to reach reach 65 percent of all Ontario adults vaccinated by the end of the month.

Schools will continue learning remotely for now.
