Russia’s military has hurled a barrage of missiles against Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kyiv.
The barrage struck civilian targets overnight in what could be Moscow’s retaliation for Saturday’s pre-dawn bombing of a key bridge connecting Russia to its annexed territory of Crimea.
The first strikes on Kyiv in four months targeted the centre of the capital and left at least eight people dead and 24 injured.
After the Kyiv attacks, more loud explosions were heard in other locations, including Dnipro, Kharkiv and the western city of Lviv.
Yesterday, Russian missiles hit civilian targets in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaphorizhia, killing at least 13 people
