Representatives from all three levels of government were on-hand this morning near Yonge and Davisville to announce an infrastructure investment of about $1.5 billion for the Bloor-Yonge station, the busiest of all TTC stations and the hub of the entire system.
Federal Finance Minister and Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland confirmed Ottawa’s investment of $500 million.
Ontario Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney says the province will provide $450 million towards the project.
Mayor John Tory says the City of Toronto has set aside $564 million in its municipal budget.
The TTC accommodates about 500 million rider trips annually.
