OTTAWA MAN CHARGED WITH TWEETING TERRORIST HOAXES, THREATS AGAINST PARLIAMENT HILL, EMBASSIES

A 19-year-old man has allegedly threatened Parliament Hill, the Department of National Defence and two embassies – the U.S. and China – in November.
The RCMP says they were notified November 8 of what they’re describing as ”terrorism-related” threats and death threats by a Twitter user.
Daniel Houde has been charged with four counts each of conveying a terrorist hoax, threatening death or bodily harm to a person and threatening to burn, destroy and damage property.
He’s been released on unspecified conditions and is scheduled to return to court January 18.
Houde was arrested by a specialized police team made up of the Mounties, provincial and local police and federal agencies whose job is to collect and analyze information about extremist and national security threats.
