After thousands of delays at airports across the United States on Wednesday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration has lifted a ground stop caused by a computer outage.
Flights bound for the United States have also been delayed including at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
In fact, a latest look at the departures board shows some U.S. bound flights delayed until as late as 11 o’clock Wednesday morning.
The FAA ordered all U.S. flights to delay departures until 9 a.m. Eastern.
As of 8:30 a.m. Eastern, there were more than 3700 delayed flights within, into or out of the United States.
More than 550 were cancelled.
Earlier, a Twitter post from the FAA said it was working on restoring its Notice to Air Missions System.
The system is a key part of flight-plan filing that the FAA provides to pilots to let them know about severe weather or airspace closures that could delay a flight.
A statement from The White House says there is no evidence of a cyberattack, but U.S. President Joe Biden has directed the Department of Transportation to investigate the cause of the disruption.
