Two major developments in the Middle East on Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Israeli leaders have approved a military operation into the Gaza Strip city of Rafah, and the Israeli Defence Forces confirms launching at least 50 missiles.

This came hours after the terrorist group announced it had accepted a cease-fire proposal brokered by Egypt and Qatar.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that the proposal was “far from Israel’s essential demands,” but that it would nonetheless send negotiators to continue talks on a cease-fire agreement.

In the meantime, thousands of Israeli rallied across the country Monday night, calling for an immediate deal to release the remaining captives of Hamas.
