A leader of the Russian-backed rebels in eastern Ukraine says the bodies, recovered from the downed Malaysian airliner, will be preserved until an international aviation delegation arrives.
The same leader says the rebels have also recovered the back boxes from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 and will hand those over to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Meanwhile, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird’s joining the call for an independent investigation.
He’s demanding the rebels leave the site, adding it’s becoming increasingly clear the tragedy is the result of an ”outrageous crime.”
The leader of Britain, France and Germany are telling Moscow to ensure the rebels give full access to investigators at the crash site.
A statement from the French president’s office say if Russia does not immediately take such action, consequences would be drawn up Tuesday at a meeting of European Union foreign ministers.
