After seven years, British author Salman Rushdie will publish his next book – this September.
“Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights” is described as “a wonder tale about the way we live now.”
It’s said to blend history, mythology and “a timeless love story.”
Knopf Canada, an imprint of Penguin Random House Canada will be releasing it.
Rushdie has published 11 novels including “Mdnight’s Children,” which won the Man Booker Prize in 1981 – and the Best of the Booker Prize in 2008.
Rushdie went into hiding after his 1988 book, “The Satanic Verses,” drew a death edict from Iran’s religious leaders – for its depiction of the Prophet Muhammad.
