There is a renewed state of panic in the Senate now that the first bombshells from the much-anticipated auditor general’s report on Senate spending have been dropped. Today, top senators are expected to start pouring through all 120 pages of Michael Ferguson’s audit on Senators’ expense claims, which the chamber received yesterday and which is due for public release on Tuesday. Multiple sources say that potential criminal cases involve seven retired senators and two sitting senators including Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu. Last night he quit the Conservative caucus to as an Independent.
