Environment Canada is warning southern Ontarians about a messy mix of winter weather expected to rock the region on Sunday
The agency says parts of southern Ontario could experience winds gusts of up to 120 kilometres per hour that can damage windows, uproot trees and rip shingles off roofs.
Power cuts are also predicted with Hydro One warning of the possibility of hundreds of outages throughout parts of Ontario affected by the storm.
They are advising residents to gather emergency supplies such as flashlights, blankets, water and ready to eat food in case of a prolonged outage.
A blowing snow is also in effect for much of the GTA with two to four centimetres of snow forecast alongside the high winds.
Environment Canada are warning that any fresh snow will be whipped up by the winds creating near whiteout conditions.
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility and drivers are being warned to be prepared to react to changing road conditions.
